About Us
We are a reconciling
congregation, which
means we affirm the
lifestyles of the lesbian,
gay, bi-sexual,
transgender and queer
community. We are one
of only five Asian Pacific
Islander churches in
America to be so.
A brief history

Reconciling Congregation
Aldersgate was
founded in 1909 as the
Japanese Methodist
Episcopal Church of
Palo Alto. This early
Ramona Street
location was just a part
of a Japanese
American
neighborhood. The
church would move
several times before
becoming Page Mill
Methodist Church on
Page Mill Road. In
1965 we built our
current facility on
Manuela Ave.
See our minister, Rev.
Roger Morimoto for more
details about becoming a
member.
About Aldersgate
Aldersgate provides a
progressive environment
for thought provoking
study of God and
community. We offer a
number of classes that
explore many topics. We
also support various
ministries that reach out
to the global community.
Our annual events are
fellowship and family
oriented. When you
come to Aldersgate, you
are coming home.
