Performing Musicians:

Piano, Hyunji Park 

Hyunji is a native of Seoul, Korea, who earned a Graduate Performance Diploma in piano performance from Peabody Conservatory at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore. With over two decades of professional musical experience, she has excelled as a soloist, collaborative performer, music educator, and director of music organizations.  Hyunji has captivated audiences extensively both as a soloist and collaborative pianist in major cities worldwide, including Seoul, Rome, Sydney's Opera House, Anchorage and the Baltimore-Washington D.C area. In the San Francisco Bay Area, she has been invited to perform at prestigious venues such as the Presidio Chapel, St. Mary Cathedral, Herbst Theater, Grace Presbyterian Church, and Ashby Village.  But for Hyunji, music is not just about performance. It is a powerful tool for healing and connecting with others. She is passionate about using her music to bring people together and create a sense of community, using her skills to make a positive impact in the world. Her talent, dedication, and compassion make her a truly exceptional musician and a force for good in the world of music.  Apart from performing, Hyunji is also a music educator, having served as the music director of the 2015-2018 Sonata Contest of CCMTAC. Her piano studio boasts a thriving reputation, with her students ranking highly in major piano competitions in the Bay Area.  Currently, Hyunji serves as the Musician in Residence at the Presidio Chapel, Artistic Director of Celeste Solo Ensemble, pianist of Celeste Stella Trio, and an active member of MTAC.

Cello, August Jong Hyun Lee

August is a professional classical cellist, educator, and conductor. He holds a Bachelor of Music from the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory and a Master of Music from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music.  In addition to his solo career, Mr. Lee is a dedicated teacher and conductor. He currently teaches private students and conducts the Valley Church Youth Orchestra, the Silicon Valley Korean Chamber Orchestra, the Tri Valley Youth Orchestra, and the Oikos Community Orchestra.  Mr. Lee is also an active performer. He is a member of the Celeste Stella Trio, which is a resident musician at the San Francisco Presidio Chapel and performs in concert series at the Cathedral of Saint Mary of the Assumption.  Mr. Lee is a passionate and talented musician who is dedicated to sharing his love of music with others. He is an asset to the music community and an inspiration to his students and colleagues.
