Our Ministries
We strive to build one body of Christ as a church by celebrating diversity and honoring different gifts. If you are interested in joining a ministry, please email us: aumcpa@gmail.com
Spring Bazaar
Spring Bazaar is one of the biggest fundraiser events at Aldersgate. It is a much-loved community event by our neighbors as well. Come check out our next Bazaar in Spring 2022. There will be much to enjoy such as Bento, Manju, Udon, diverse collectibles, crafts, and art gallery.
Choir
We are a small but mighty full choir.
Wednesday evening practices are led by Choir Director, Keiko Kagawa.
We strive for monthly worship performances and lead hymns during worship service.
During COVID restrictions, we have continued to sing via ZOOM.
Join us and make a joyful sound!

Koyukai
Come join our Aldersgate Senior Community, Ko Yu Kai (交友会), "gathering of friends!" We meet once a month with a variety of activities, movies, speakers,
demonstrations, Healing Arts, games, and great fellowship during lunch! A place to have fun, laugh, and to find out you really aren’t getting old! Try it, you might like it! If you are interested in our senior ministry, please contact Lori, Judy, or Grace.
Sunday School
Join our Sunday School for Bible Story lessons, fun activities, crafts, and more! Aldersgate has Sunday School for children from age 2 years old through 5th grade. Students are dismissed to go to Sunday School class after the Children’s Time portion of service.
Contact Alice Yu for any questions. You can download the registration form HERE.
Youth
Aldersgate Youth is for students from 6th grade to 12th grade. We strive to build a strong faith community where everyone is welcomed as who they are. The youth group is a place where our young members can feel free to explore their faith and questions while building connections and strengthening relationships with each other and our greater Aldersgate family. Throughout the school year, we enjoy going on youth outings (getting boba, making lunch together, and more) and having lock-ins at the church. Our youth are also involved with the NJAUMC church camps (Junior High Camp and Asian American Summer Camp) during the summer.
Contact our youth director, David Lai or our youth teachers, Shelley Nagata, Vince Iwasaki, and Grant Nieda, for more information.
Kool Kids: Young Professionals
We are meeting once a month. If you want to join our Young Professionals group, please contact Rev. Rae.
Outreach
Our "Into The World" logo was designed by Marice Shiozaki in 2013. The three cranes symbolize "good fortune and longevity" and also the Holy Trinity. They are flying out of the circle as a symbol of going "Into the World."
We have been working with diverse local organizations such as Hotel de Zink, Rebuilding Together Penninsula, Habitat for Humanity, Standford Blood Drive, Family Giving Tree, Second Harvest Food Bank, and so on.
L*I*F*E Group
Have you been searching for the meaning of LIFE?
Our Aldersgate L*I*F*E group is a support group geared toward empty nesters and baby boomers but anyone is welcome. Come join us if you feel lonely or empty after sending off your kids to college or if you just want to have a good time. You may find that it's a time for you to celebrate your LIFE again with other friends at the church. Please contact Lori Wong if you have any questions.
Salmon Dinner
Salmon Dinner fundraiser usually happens in Fall. It is a much-loved community event as well. Come try our famous BBQ salmon, craft sales, and silent auction! The proceeds will fund many of our church programs. This year it will be take-out only. Stay tuned for more updates! Please contact Herb Gong for any questions.
